Cleveland Innerbelt Project Overview and Documents

Summary

For the past several years, the Ohio Department of Transportation has been working with the community to develop a comprehensive strategy to rebuild the Cleveland Innerbelt.  This effort, which in 2004 evolved into the Cleveland Innerbelt Plan, includes rebuilding portions of Interstate 71, 77 and 90 into downtown Cleveland.

The Innerbelt Plan is divided into several projects, which include:

  • E. 55th Street Bridge

  • Innerbelt Curve

  • Innerbelt Trench

  • Central Interchange

  • I-77 Access

  • Central Viaduct

  • Southern Innerbelt

  • Quigley Road Extension

  • W. 7th Street/I-490 Interchange

Since 2004, ODOT and its consultant team have been working on preliminary engineering and environmental studies for several of the Plan components.  The team is also working to identify and evaluate specific alignments and interchange configurations, as well as conducting environmental and right of way studies to identify potential impacts.  When completed, these findings will be shared and discussed with the public.  This input will be used to make project decisions.
